On May 23rd, 2025, High Commissioner Joseph Sokoine met with the Chief Executive Officer of Canada's Ocean Supercluster, Ms. Kendra MacDonald. The meeting was a constructive and insightful discussion on how to deepen cooperation in the blue economy, with a focus on fostering research alliances, advancing ocean technology, and unlocking new trade and investment opportunities.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner and the Chief Executive Officer agreed, among other things, to coordinate a webinar between stakeholders from Tanzania's blue economy and members of Canada's Ocean Supercluster.
