The High Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Minerals, the State Mining Corporation, and the Mining Commission, participated in the 93rd Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention, held from March 2nd to 5th, 2025, in Toronto, Canada. 

Tanzania delegation was led by Hon. Anthony Mavunde (MP), Minister of Minerals. 

Furthermore, Tanzania delegation used the Convention to brief participants on the current state of the mining sector and investment opportunities available in the precious metals and critical minerals.

On March 3rd, 2025, the Hon. Minister participated in the 10th International Conference of Ministers of Minerals held in Toronto following the invitation of Dr. Raymond Goldie, President of PDAC. This event brought together mining ministers from 25 countries to discuss the sector’s development, from financing and exploration to production. 

Hon. Mavunde used the occasion to brief that through the Geological Survey of Tanzania, Tanzania plans to increase the High-Resolution Airborne Geophysical Survey area from 16 percent to 50 percent by 2030. Hence, He requested the ministers to welcome the private companies from their respective countries to join forces with the Government of Tanzania to make that project successful.
