From March 12th to 18th, 2025, the High Commission in collaboration with the Tanzania Tourism Board and the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism organized a Familiarization (FAM)Trip to Tanzania for the six Quebec travel agencies: Voyages Constellation, Traditours, Hanh Travel, Voyageurs du Monde, CAA Quebec, and House of Travel.
The FAM Trip aimed to provide the agencies with firsthand knowledge of Tanzania's tourist attractions to enhance their promotion of Tanzania as a travel destination in the Province of Quebec.
The Turkish Airlines Office in Montreal sponsored the return airline tickets for the agency representatives and Ms. Vainess Mollel, the Economic Affairs Counselor at the High Commission. This sponsorship was part of the Airline's promotion of its route from Quebec (Montreal) via Turkey to Tanzania to the Quebec travel agencies.
The Tanzania Tourism Board, Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, and several private Tanzanian travel and tourism companies also played a crucial role in the trip by covering the ground operations costs.
In addition to sightseeing and experiencing firsthand the diversity of Tanzania's attractions, the FAM Trip allowed the travel agents to have key business-to-business (B2B) meetings. These meetings were held in Arusha, where the travel agents interacted with more than 50 tour operators at the Mt. Meru Hotel and seven at the Tembo Hotel in Zanzibar. These meetings provided valuable networking opportunities and potential business partnerships.
In addition, on March 18th, 2025, the travel agents also had an informative session with Precision Airline officials at the Tembo Hotel in Zanzibar, where the Airline sponsored their flight tickets from Arusha to Zanzibar.
