On November 30th, 2024, Tanzania's High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Joseph Sokoine, met with the Tanzanian diaspora living in Toronto, Canada, to discuss a wide range of issues, including their crucial contribution to the country's economic development.
The meeting also served as a platform to inform the Tanzanian diaspora in Toronto, one of Canada's trade and investment hubs, about the significant economic and socio-economic achievements of the sixth-phase government led by H. E. Dr. Samia S. Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
These achievements have largely contributed to the strong growth of the economy. Similarly, he informed the community on various reforms undertaken by the government that have created a conducive investment climate in the United Republic of Tanzania. The High Commissioner, Sokoine, also briefed the community on significant economic and socio-progress made by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar led by H.E Dr. Hussein A. Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar.
The High Commissioner called on the diaspora to actively collaborate with the High Commission in promoting the country's trade, investment, and tourism opportunities in Canada.
He also urged them to continue to respect Canada's laws and regulations and to be good ambassadors of the United Republic of Tanzania in Canada.
