The High Commissioner Designate for the United Republic of Tanzania to Canada, H.E Joseph Sokoine, paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of Japan to Canada, H.E Kanji Yamanouchi, on 14th March 2024 at the Japan Embassy in Ottawa.

During their meeting, they discussed a range of issues related to long-term diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Japan and the representation of the respective countries in Canada. The High Commissioner also shared Tanzania's Coffee with Ambassador Yamanouchi, as Japan is one of the countries that buy a lot of our coffee, referred to in Japan as the Kilimanjaro coffee. 

Since he arrived at the Mission on 29th February 2024, the High Commissioner has had the opportunity to pay courtesy calls to other Heads of Mission in Ottawa, including South Africa, Albania, Ghana, Ireland, Rwanda, and Uganda, to introduce himself and explore collaboration opportunities to promote Tanzania's interest in Canada.
